Russia may modernize Hungary's Soviet-made military equipment — Lavrov

According to Russian News Agency TASS, negotiations are under way to modernize Hungary's Soviet-made military aircraft that is still in active service in the Hungarian army. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed the report on Wednesday after holding talks with his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó in Budapest.

According to news reports, the two sides among other things discussing ways to modernize Hungary's Soviet-made military planes and helicopters that the Hungarian military wants to keep in active service.

"Negotiations are underway," said the Russian foreign minister. "There are very detailed consultations have been taking place between the two sides on these issues," said Lavrov.
