Hungary will host the 2020 European Aquatics Championships announced Paolo Barelli the President of LIGUE EUROPÉENNE DE NATATION (LEN) on Saturday in Budapest.

The Hungarian Swimming Federation told MTI that the organization of the European championship will differ from that of the World championship as the programs won't be held simultaneously like at the World Championship.

The water polo tournament will be held in January, swimming, and diving events will be held in May, and open-water swimming events will be held in June.

"Budapest is a sports-loving city, and Hungary is a sports-loving country; this has been proven by a number of excellent sporting events held in this country. LEN has high level and continuous co-operation with the Hungarian Swimming Federation; a good example of this is the ongoing Junior European Championship held in Hódmezővásárhely."

"The 2020 European Championship success is guaranteed, because in 2017 Hungary will host the World Championships" said Paolo Barelli.
