Thursday, July 7, 2016

Anthropologist Zsolt András Bíró, the main organizer of Kurultaj visited Kyrgyzstan to hold talks with organizers of World Nomad Games.

The large-scale event (Dünya Goce oyunları) is one of Kyrgyzstan's most notable cultural and sporting spectacles.

The parties agreed that a Hungarian delegation will visit the wonderful Issyk Kul coast where the World Nomad Games will be held in September and Hungarian participants also take part in the event.

The two sides agreed that the Hungarian - Turan traditional horse fighting team will perform at the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games, which will be attended by leaders of several Asian countries and the international media will also broadcast the event.

As part of the agreement, the World Nomad Games and Kurultaj will be designated as sister events and thus, the two organizations promote each other in the world.

The Chairman of the Hungarian - Turan Foundation made a three-day visit to the World Nomad Games site and toured the locations where the various sporting and equestrian events will be held.

During the visit, Zsolt András Bíró met the Governor of the Region Asha Akibaev, who himself was a member of the 2014 Kyrgyz delegation visiting Kurultaj. The governor accompanied the Hungarian delegation while touring the region.

Zsolt András Bíró also met Kyrgyz Minister of Culture Altynbek Maksutov Askarovich who accepted Kurultáj main organizer’s invitation to attend this year's Kurultaj, which will be held in Bugac; the two sides also agreed to deepen joint prehistoric research between the two countries.
