A carjacking attempt ended tragically in Gödöllő. A 24-year-old girl arrived home with her car, and while she got out of the car to open the gate, a man jumped into the vehicle trying to get away with it.

But the girl clung to the car trying to stop the man from taking her car. Then, the robber sped up, and the car flipped into the ditch trapping the young woman under it who as a result, died at the scene. The robber then, got out of the car and fled the scene.

The victim - Zsófia B. - worked in the Ida Turay Theatre in Budapest, and celebrated her 24th birthday a day earlier.

Police identified the culprit - 35-year-old Lajos Sz. of Gödöllő - who is suspected of committing the crime, and an arrest warrant was issued against him; a few hours later, he was arrested in a pub in Isaszeg.

Blikk.hu has learned that the suspect is a known gypsy musician, one of the former members of the Hungarian National Gypsy Art Ensemble.

The victim - Zsófia B.

They talked to a fellow musician who said Lajos Sz. was a good man until about four years ago. Both of his sisters graduated from university, and his father is also a highly acclaimed musician.

But he did not tell what happened four years ago, because that would compromise the investigation.
