Team Hungary, despite several incredible setbacks (for instance Olympic Bronze Medalist Judoka Éva Csernoviczki suffered a serious leg injury in her first match) ended up winning eight gold medals in Rio.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told that before the Olympics started he had the feeling that all gold medals would be delivered by female atheletes. Actually, he was almost spot on as from the 8 gold medals 7 was won by female athletes.

The prime minister expected that the women’s pentathlon team also win medal as he is a long time fan of the pentathlon team.

According to the prime minister, modern pentathlon is unfairly neglected in Hungary despite the fact that pentalon is the mother of all sports.

I think our children could be best prepared for adult life, along the line of pentathlon methodologies said Orbán.

The prime minister did not have much time to watch the games in Rio, because he was in constant discussion with members of the International Olympic Committee lobbying for the 2024 Budapest Olympics; but he found time to watch the women's water polo bronze medal match and the women's K-4 500 m kayak event final where the Hungary won gold medal.

According to Orbán, Olympic games hosting cities and countries formed an exclusive club, which is unhealthy for the International Olympic Movement; members of the Olympic Committee start feeling the same thing and they too agree that changes are needed.

Orbán thinks that the time is right for Budapest to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. "We are the only country among the top ten countries in the medals table that have never hosted Olympic Games", said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
