Animals, the forgotten victims of war

Hungarian movie "Gray nobodies" among other things, pays tribute to the First World War's forgotten heroes, the animals.

During the four years of bloodshed around 16 million different animals died in the fighting including one million dogs, eight million horses, donkeys and mules.

"Soldier Heroes" Facebook page has published this touching photo as 650 soldiers forming the shape of a horse head to pay tribute to fallen four-legged comrades. The photograph was taken in an American reservist training camp.

The Hungarian army lost one and a half million horses in the First World War.
