New poll by Nézőpont Institute: PM Viktor Orbán is more popular that the other leading politicians combined

44% of the adult population would choose once again Viktor Orbán as the next prime minister of the country if elections held today; the prime minister is more popular than the other candidates combined, according to a survey conducted by Nézőpont Institute, published on Monday.

The new survey shows that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is the most popular politician in the country, followed by Gábor Vona at 11%, Bernadett Szél at 8%, Ferenc Gyurcsány at 6%, László Botka at 5% and Gábor Fodor at 2% support.

Nézőpont Institute has been conducting regular surveys since May 2015 on the popularity of potential prime ministerial candidates. Back then, Viktor Orbán was supported by 32% of the total population.

According to the survey, 95% of Fidesz-KDNP sympathizers would vote for the prime minister; interestingly, 66% of Jobbik sympathizers would also vote for the prime minister if election held today.
