Prime Minister Viktor Orbán travels to Beijing on Thursday to attend One Belt, One Road forum said Bertalan Havasi, head of the Prime Minister's Press Office.

Viktor Orbán will also attend the National People's Congress plenary meeting and will hold bilateral talks with Chinese officials.

The Hungarian delegation is scheduled to sign several cooperation agreements with Chinese business leaders aiming to expand partnership between Hungarian and Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as financing of joint research and development projects.

During the five-day visit, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, and Minister of National Economy Mihály Varga are scheduled to meet representatives of the Bank of China as well said Havasi.

Hungary was the first European country that signed an intergovernmental memorandum of understanding with China regarding the "One Belt, One Road Initiative" in June 2015. The project aims to stimulate trade and investment, and develop infrastructure links between Europe and Asia as well as enhance cultural exchange among the participating regions.
