The most prestigious recognition of the World Water Sports Organization (FINA) was granted to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

The award was presented to the prime minister by the Chairman of FINA, Julio Cesar Maglione, on Monday in the Parliament.

The award is given to individuals including heads of state, ministers, companies, networks and other sponsors of FINA World Championships who represent the goals and ideals of the organization.

“We started preparing for the World Championship by creating a separate law, supported by all parliamentary parties. Which means that everybody, that is, the entire population, all the representatives of the national community supported the idea to realize such a great project in such a short time," said the prime minister.

Sport is one of the most important things in the modern world.

"As a father I can say that without sport there is no chance for parents to properly raise their children and teach them how to be competitive" Orbán added.
