The Hungarian Pavilion at the World Exhibition in Astana awarded with silver medal in its category by both visitors of the exhibition and the professional jury said Mihály Varga Minister of National Economy reacting to the award by the International Exhibition Bureau.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of National Economy, about 140 exhibitors were assessed by a nine-member independent international jury. The Hungarian Pavilion ranked second in the "Theme Development Category" behind Switzerland.

The concept of the Hungarian pavilion - represented by the tree of life - focused on solar energy. Visitors were able to get acquainted with Hungarian development projects in a wide variety of fields, "said Varga, adding that the exhibition also gave a picture of the diversity of Hungarian culture, and Hungarian traditional products of special value as well as Hungarian-Kazakh historical connections.

The politician emphasized that the Hungarian pavilion performed exceptionally well; in the last three months more than 300,000 visitors saw the Hungarian exhibition.

This year's successful performance will help us fine-tune our participation in upcoming world exhibitions of the following years added the Minister of National Economy.
