The Fidesz does not support the inclusion of the Ukrainian governing party in the European People's Party

Saturday, October 21, 2017

President of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Zsolt Németh, announced at a press conference in Budapest on Saturday that the Fidesz did not support the inclusion of the Ukrainian governing party in the European People's Party until it amended the Ukrainian education law allowing minority language education from kindergarten to university.

The politician said Hungary thought that the Ukrainian education law should be amended, because in its current form it couldn't remedy the shortcomings of the education system.

"Ukraine must be stopped until it is too late," said Németh, who suggested that Ukraine pursued a self-destructive policy; it also intends to amend its language, citizenship and church laws, which can further aggravate the "already quite disturbing situation" in the country.

The representative of the Fidesz party expressed hope that Ukraine could be stopped on the road that may lead to the destabilization of its western part endangering the future of Central Europe.
