PM Viktor Orbán was given a mandate to veto proceeding against Poland under Article 7

Thursday, November 16, 2017

The Hungarian government does not support any EU action against Poland, said János Lázár, the head of the Prime Minister's Office at a press-conference on Thursday.

At Wednesday's plenary session of the European Parliament (EP), the majority factions voted to start proceeding against Poland under Article 7.

Hungary doesn't support the initiative said János Lázár; the government of Hungary considers the initiative as an attack on Poland and on Polish independence, which is nothing else but an abuse of power by the EU establishment.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has the government mandate to veto the proceedings against Poland if need be said Lázár.
