The Hungarian Armed Forces announced earlier that it struck a deal with the Russian aircraft manufacturer to overhaul eleven Mi-24 combat helicopters and their weapon system.

The move is part of the recently announced Zrinyi plan that foresees the biggest modernization of the Hungarian Armed Forces in recent decades.

The modernization program anticipates the purchase of more new - most probably Sikorsky helicopters in the coming years.
