Election 2018 - Preliminary results will be available around midnight on Sunday

Saturday, April 7, 2018

Sunday late evening - after 11 pm - the first preliminary results of the 2018 parliamentary elections will be probably available, according to the Head of the National Election Office (NVI) Ilona Pálffy.

In Saturday's press conference in Budapest she said the speed of vote counting in each constituency would be affected by the number of candidates running in that constituency because the committees have to separate the votes and then, register them.

Pálffy announced that the final result of the parliamentary elections will only be available next Saturday because of the late arrival of votes cast at Hungarian embassies around the world.

Pálffy also pointed out that in constituencies where there is a close race, NVI will announce on Sunday on its website that the votes cast abroad might change the final result in that constituency.
