The EU threatening Hungary and Poland with punitive measures

According to the Financial Times, Brussels is preparing to withhold EU funds from countries that do not adhere to the principles of liberal democracy - Hungary, and Poland may be targeted.

In the near future, the European Union can propose the withholding of development funds from countries that "endanger judicial independence", such as Hungary and Poland.

According to the paper, the European Commission may announce new measures on Wednesday.

In December, the European Commission proposed the implementation of Article 7 of the EU Treaty, because the government of Poland planning to carry out a judicial reform that many western-European countries vigorously oppose.

The controlled liberal press is accusing some eastern-European countries of disregarding "weights and counterweights of governance", which apparently leads to a divide between the eastern and western member states of the European Union.
