This year's semi-final of the International Chinese Language Competition will be held in Pécs

The University of Pécs will host this year's "Chinese Bridge" International Chinese Language Competition for university and high school students.

The "Chinese Bridge" Language Competition is a major international event organized by the Chinese Language Education Council; university and high school students from across the world can take part in the competition to show their Chinese language skills.

The semi-finals are held annually in twenty countries, and the final is held in China.

The semi-finals are organized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, in close cooperation with the University of Pécs and the Confucius Institute.

Competitors have to hold a speech related performance of a given subject in Chinese, followed by a multi-choice quiz on Chinese history and culture. The performances will be judged by a professional jury.

Winners of the competition will receive Chinese scholarship, and earn the right to attend a Chinese summer camp; the top two winners will take part in the finals of the competition will be held in China later this year.
